Swoon bridesmaid dresses by Amy Wong – Product / Apperal Photography – Los Angeles

Inez Lewis Photography was recently contracted do products shoots for Amy Wongs new bridesmaid dress line, SWOON.    Product photography is usually not the most exciting work for me but when Amy said she wanted something a little out of the norm I was happy to oblige.

My photo of actress Wendy Davis from Lifetime’s Army Wives was published this Dec 08 in print magazine Heart & Soul.

Wendy Davis grew up in a small town just outside Baltimore Maryland. She earned a Degree in Theatre from Howard University. After graduating, Wendy moved to Los Angeles CA to pursue her acting career.

Wendy first big break came on the television series, “High Incident”, DreamWorks SKG’s first, one-hour series. Wendy was hand picked by living legend Steven Spielberg to star in the series. Of her performance in the pilot episode “The Hollywood Reporter” wrote, “The large and strikingly good looking cast all make outstanding first impressions, and Wendy Davis is magnificent as a cop’s widow”. Later Wendy was cast as a detective on “EZ Street”, a one-hour drama produced by Paul Haggis, Academy Award winning writer of “Million Dollar Baby” and writer/director of “Crash”. Her other series are “The New WKRP In Cincinnati”, and “In Our Lives.” Wendy has starred in several films, her credits include “Rendezvous”, “Return To Two Moon Junction”, “Reptile Man”, “Trapped” and her most recent “Mother Ghost” starring Kevin Pollack, Mark Thompson and Dana Delaney.

Wendy has guest starred on many TV shows. Her credits include “Commander and Chief”, “Cold Case”, “Grey’s Anatomy”, “The District”, “Angel”, “Any Day Now”, “The Steven Weber Show”, “Profiler”, “The Gregory Hines Show”, “Coach”, “South Of Sunset”, “Martin”, and “Between Brothers”. Wendy received a Drama Logue Award for her performance in the play “Talking With”.

“Army Wives”, Wendy’s current project has an incredible team behind it, starting with executive producer Mark Gordon (Grey’s Anatomy, Criminal Minds, Saving Private Ryan). Of “Army Wives” Wendy said “Every once and a while you’ll find a project that really speaks to you, a project that is important to you because of the context, and the people you represent. “Army Wives” is that way for me. Dec Beauty Editorial for Plus Model Magazine with Plus Model Rayna

I’ve been a contributing photographer for over a year now with the industry’s most well know online magazine Plus Model Magazine.  When I got the request to do this shoot I was very excited. The theme was Haute for the Holidays!  Product and plus fashion stylist Reah Norman along with Plus Model Mag beauty editor Artemis collaborated with me to produce this successful shoot.  It started off a little rocky.  Lighting jewelry on a model for the first time was a bit challenging but in the end we were happy with the results.  Thank you to Rayna for being patient with me as I experimented with different lighting set ups.  I learned a lot from this shoot and immediately got to apply what I learned for my next shoot a week later with jewelry company 1928.com.

My latest photo shoot with Actor/Singer/Musician Darius McCrary

This was my second shoot with Darius McCrary.  Darius is currently working with music industry veteran DJ Quik on his upcoming CD.  I got a chance to hear snippets of his tracks at our shoot in Stone Canyon.  I was very impressed.  We all know he can act but wait till you hear his voice!

“Darius McCrary is best known for his role as Eddie Winslow on the long-running television series “Family Matters.” He began his career in Hollywood at the age of ten. McCrary, who is also a songwriter and music producer, is the son of Grammy-nominated gospel/jazz musician Howard McCrary and older brother of actor Donovan McCrary.”

I was asked to do headshots of actress and art collector Angela Robinson, wife of comedienne John Witherspoon.  Angela is the owner of Artpeace Gallery in North Hollywood, CA

Angela Robinson has been an artist her entire life. She remembers getting out of “new math” to do the bulletin boards for her 5th grade teacher. At 19, she was an art director for CBS, and worked closely with Max Robinson and Warner Wolf. Later, she studied at Pratt Institute in New York City. “It is so much fun to teach people that you can light up a room with great art. “I put new slip-covers on my couches and great art on the wall above it, and people love my decor and rarely ask about the sofa….it’s all about the art!” Angela’s client base consists of Nicole & Eddie Murphy, and sports personality, Chris Webber, Shaquille O’Neal, Alonzo Mourning, Sharon Stone and many others.

Music Photography – Hollywood photo shoot with hip hop artist The Original StyLis

Born Jerohn McGregor, now The Original StyLis, McGregor is sought after by other aspiring artists and has been featured on numerous projects, including the remix of Jill Scott’s “Golden.” He has penned numerous songs for record companies and artists alike. His efforts did not go unnoticed as his talents were recognized by the producers of Diamondmine Productions. These industry veterans have expanded his repertoire to include Rock to Reggae, all the while, maintaining his delivery for pop audiences everywhere. He has skillfully honed his craft through live performance featured appearances with touring acts. StyLis is currently recording his much anticipated freshman project – “With Or Without.” This expression of experiences shares great insight into the life, love and struggles of a young man. Singles entitled, “Imagination,” “Kid Again,” and “Broken Cup!” reflect the truth he has survived.

Being creative and developing new concepts are the staples in the fashion and beauty industry. One such individual has harnessed these properties and capitalized on them. Artemis’ interest began in college after she taught herself character makeup for a production of The Crucible. She went on to play two characters, Harriet Putnam in Act I & Sara Goode in Act IV and also volunteered to learn how to create the character makeup.

“I fell in love with the creative process, as I believed that it was an extension of all the other creative things I had always involved myself in. I paint, write poetry, sing, and so forth.”

She soon graduated to working with up and commers and celebrities from overseas, like Charlotte Dawson, Annet Artani & Madelin Zero. Artemis derives her inspiration from nature itself. For example a flower, barbed wire, rain, a pattern or even something as simple as a smile.

“I have worked with Annet Artani. She is a singer-songwriter from New York, who is very well known in Greece, and will be releasing an American album shortly. She also happens to be my kid sister.”

When it comes to how women desire to express themselves Artemis believes that women today want to find what looks best on them. When someone asks for a makeup lesson from her they wish to learn how to look their best. There are always women who love to experiment with color and then there are those who are more timid and prefer more natural tones. According to Artemis makeup is an accessory and it is meant to enhance your features so that you look your beautiful best.
